Advocacy

  • Helping families navigate the special education process

  • Empowering parents to by providing knowledge about their child’s needs and their rights in accessing services

  • Attending IEP and Team meetings to ensure that the parents’ voices are heard and the child is receiving services that best meet their needs

 

Consulting

  • Interpreting school and independent evaluations

  • Observing your child at school and/or at home and making recommendations to promote their success

  • Reviewing relevant paperwork related to your child’s progress (this includes current IEPs, testings results, progress reports, etc) and discussing what is working and what is not

  • Sharing constructive and practical recommendations

 

Tutoring

  • Providing support for students to complete homework assignments

  • Delivering supplemental instruction in the areas of math, reading, and writing using a variety of methodologies

  • Instructing students in understanding their feelings and body cues as well as strategies to assist in coping with these feelings

  • Helping parents and students set up systems that encourage independence and improve executive functioning within the home

About Me

  • 13 years experience in the field of education in residential and public schools
  • Educated with students with multiple diagnoses including autism spectrum disorder, ADHD, mental health disorders, and developmental delays
  • Training in a variety of academic, social, emotional, and behavioral techniques and curricula
  • Extensive practice administering and interpreting results from commonly administered testing measures
